So, you think you can just play any music you like down the phone line when your customers are on hold? Think again.
Picture yourself ...on hold, waiting to speak to someone. You hear the same message you heard last time you called, and the time before that. Chances are it’s NEVER been changed. It becomes “wallpaper sound” – bland, uninteresting and bordering on irritating – and reflects badly on the company, even if it’s subliminally. You think: “How hard can it be to change your message every now and again?”
Good question, and the answer as you are about to find out, is not hard at all.
While many Australian companies continue to rush ‘off-shore’, one Global Giant has learnt the lesson of local loyalty... and that loyalty falls to McGirvanmedia.

When clients call your company and are placed on hold, the next few seconds are crucial. If you have no on hold system – the worst case scenario – all they will hear is dead silence, during which they will wonder if they’ve been disconnected or completely forgotten about. It is infinitely better if they hear a recorded message or listen to music while waiting on hold, however the quality of that message on hold can obviously vary.
